Hello friends~
It's been a while since I've been to the shroomery or attempted a cultivation. However, now I have some time to experiment and broaden my horizons, in other words, I will attempt another cultivation.
I will be using same technique as last time, Doc's Wild Bird Seed method using quart jars. Then using HippyChicks advice and using the 16 ounce sweater boxes to house my colonized WBS and poo, then to the greenhouse.
I have had tremendous success with this technique and I'm very excited to try again and join this community. Any tips or advice will be appreciated.
Here are some pictures from the last cultivation.

Peace,
I.T>

Hello there~
So I had a somewhat of a slow start and judging from my results thus far my technique was a little sloppy and out of practice. I better post the details to give you a clear picture.
This time around I started out with 4 different strains: Brazilian (Have done and had good results) AF ( a favorite) Creeper (Never done before) Cambodian (Have done and had awkward results)
I made 10 1qrt. jars for every strain, so 40 total. I had these strains laying around for about a year now and was confident there would be no problem, and there wasn't with the syringes. I did not inoculate in a glove box but rather in a clean room, which is probably the source of my problem. Out of those 40 jars 28 turned our perfect. Some did not show any signs of growth, others had common mold. The interesting part is that last time I cultivated AF, one of the strains I did this time as well, and had tremendous success! This time 2 jars made it and every other jar developed mold. On the other hand Brazilian came out with no contaminated jars and all colonized around the same time which is always a good sign. So I am very interested to see how these different strains hold up once I mix them with poo. I have it coming soon and will keep you posted.
Peace,
I.T.
