filters: cleaning?

they say that the filters are reusable.
how do i go about cleaning them?

I fill a pot with a water/bleach mix (About 10 to 1), plug the filter in and squeeze and release several times (Like cleaning a sponge), let dry. Then the next time I do a batch of jars, if there are any contams left the heat and steam in the PC finish them off.
