yield for lowryder2
    #7396413 - 09/11/07 01:29 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

With excellent soil, lots of sunlight, and sufficient watering, would a yield of 1 oz. per plant be a realistic expectation? Please no comments about how the strain sucks - I'm well aware of the limitations of the strain but for security reasons would like to give it a try. Thanks.

Thanks man...I personally draw the line at 1 oz per plants, anything less just isn't worth it IMO.

Lowryder#2 does not suck :kingcrankey:
It is actually a really good strain(well not the yields but the potency is really good)
1 oz is not impossible in optimum conditions.

I have grown a few and gotten about 15-23g from each, some where grown outdoors in pots at about 58deg lat some under HPS.

There is a rather big variation within the strain so don't count on optimum yields from all plants some will be really good and some not so.

Why not grow a bigger plant and get better, more potent yields?

For a small time grower LR#2 is really nice.
I strongly advertise it if someone would like a small personal grow and where either far north and therefore had a short season or if the grower wants his weed fast.

The potency of the stuff I grew got the grade: as good as Canadian medical marijuana.

A bit different.
Usually starts showing preflowers in two weeks sometimes three and it has a flowering period of six weeks so you go from seed to weed in 9 weeks.

Not bad, I'd still rather grow something bigger that will finish flowering in 90 days. Sure it's an extra month, but the reward is greater. I can see the advantage of lowryder strains though, I just never put much stock in them.

I would never grow the pure Lowryder. It has gotten a lot of bad reviews.
I'd love to try the hybrids though(the ones I haven't tried already).

There's a strain called Lowsnow that seems really nice. Will probably try some of those outdoors next summer.

I've never grown lowryder, but, the thing that keeps me from it is the fact that you can't clone it. If i find a plant i really like i want to keep it in my garden, not only that but since each grow is from seed you never know if you're going to end up with all males or a low female count. Then you're out time and money.

So, for me at least, i can see and understand the novelty factor in growing it, but for someone who really wants to get into cannabis cultivation i would suggest against it or at the very least have another strain in the garden to work on.

i really am glad you came back to us instead of taking the other path. *hug*

I agree. I wouldn't grow an auto-flowering variety indoors without at the same time having a few cloneable(sp?) plants.

Definately, plus you can flower a clone quickly like lowryder.

Decter_Morgan's summery of lowryder is really good
