Coco-Coir Casing Mixes?

Hey everyone! I just got back from a perilous adventure that resulted in me finally getting my hands on some coco-coir, which, for reasons I have forgotten, I have long believed to be some of the best casing stuff...
I'm not sure where this idea came from, and I've only been able to find one casing mix on here, and it's a 60/40 verm/CCC...
Has anyone here experience with Coir? Are there any recommendations for recipes? I'd like to get cracking ASAP.

I use it for both in the substrate mix and in the casing mix.
I have seen the 60/40 verm/coir and I have tested it across the range of mix. I have found that a 50/50 seems to work best for me.

hey, sounds great:) but one thing I've been wondering... the 50/50 ratio, is that before or after the coir expands to absurd proportions?

pretty sure he's referring to the 50 peat/ 50 verm. mix posted on this site.
coir contains nutrients. The general consensus is that you dont want nutrients in your casing mix. It promotes overlay.

You can use coir in your casing layer. It may overlay more rapidly than peat moss, but it is still usable, and still great. Just catch it and patch it before overlay is an issue.

patch the overlay, got it... and the ratio for 50/50? is that 50% pre-soaking coco-coir? and how must should I soak it? it can get up to 6 times its dry volume.

the idea of using ccc as a casing material came from me.

use 60/40 or 70/30 Verm and CCC and fruit as soon as you see the mycelium just starting to break through the surface. or you will have over colonizing of the casing layer.
