Fasting and Ego perception.

I did a search and couldn't find much, but I am still suprised at how "concious expanding" my last acid trip was.
I believe that fasting caused a great deal of the new ego perceptions I had.
Can anyone relate to this. Does fasting help with ego loss? Or concious expansion?

I dunno, fasting usually influences how hungry I am after a trip, quality of the acid and set/setting usually influences my ego loss.

well i fast for shrooms because it absorbs well and if i have eaten first it doesn't even do anything.
its a form of discipline i suppose allowing you to overcome your primal instinct to eat in turn possibly allowing you to bypass any innate thinking patterns you may have?
thats my theory anyways. whats yours shroomerites?

I feel like not eating anything either before or during the trip is like cheating my own body.

Mmmmmmmm 12 inch sub. I can't really eat when I'm tripping though, my taste buds are too enhanced and I can taste EVERY ingredient in what I'm eating, good and bad. Couple trips ago a friend handed me some Smarties and OMG were they good, but I got through about 3 of them and it was too much for me.

Well, on my last trip (3.5g mushrooms), I lost my ego about 1.5 hours in (had to fight to keep it while I walked home). I hadn't eaten in about 24 hours (take a few gatorades and some fun-yons), and drove about 8 hours straight before tripping at 2am.
Between the exhausted state I was in, and how much I had not eaten over 24 hours, I tripped harder than ever. I would certainly say that fasting can greatly affect the trip intensity, and thus, ego perception/disconnection.
-------------------- Life is just a flashback... I may have gone a bit too far, I fear Will I get out of it this time? What was I thinking, taking this leap I thought I knew where we would go If only I knew, I had no idea.

Well, It could have just been the acid and my setting, but I feel like the lack of food in me had something to do with what I was feeling. Maybe it was just the schwag...
