Mods in the garden
    #7391575 - 09/10/07 11:25 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

Really: they are needed.
And they need to be somewhat strict.
Now two quality posters have left the site because of the anarchy in there.

The current moderators are knowledgeable but in my mind to lenient and not active enough.

Posting in there has lost it's appeal as so much of the threads is about subjects that's already been gone trough a multitude of times or stuff that's incredibly easily researched just through visiting erowid.
Also there has been a huge amount of threads advertising different e-bay auctions and non shroomery vendors. Much of this has remained for long periods.

On top of these things there has been a lot of flaming almost every day.

So please try to find a solution, I find that almost all other non community forums(edit: I mean here at the shroomery) are pretty clean so there must be a solution available.

Hmm... This wouldn't be the first time there were problems in a garden; there was Eden, Gethsemane, and now this...

Maybe some people need to be banned from that forum for flaming...

Or maybe you need to stand guard at the gates with a flaming sword..;)

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

Normally, I wouldn't mind being an enforcer, but I've been a little preoccupied lately...

Thats what I think.
A few more warnings, a few more temp bans and one or two permabans.

A nice example is Mai_Tai_Diamonds thats now banned but not before breaking the same rule 15 or so times in different threads and on different days.

almost every post he has made was spam and still he was allowed to continue posting.

very well put.

my opinion is that more mods are needed in the garden to clamp down on the blatent rule breaking.
nothing wrong with the existing mods, they are knowledgable and fair.
just it seems that they dont have the time to enforce the rules effectively.
so day by day the forum descends into mayhem...

this thread is a perfect illustration of why im sick of it, without even mentioning Teotzlcoatl.
that really got my back up i must say.

The subjects have been gone through a multitude of times for YOU. For the newb though, it may be the first time he has heard of morning glory etc.

Its not all about the vets around here.
