New terrarium issues (PICS)

I just finished making this new terrarium, and the humidity is hovering around 65%. I have 4 inches of perlite, well soaked and then drained sitting on the bottom of the tub. Does anyone have any ideas as to why my humidity would be so low? RR has repeatedly said that a tub with perlite can sit at 100%, so I'm at a loss.

have you calibrated your hydrometer? i dont know how you would do that with yours( or any for that matter) I think it involves a bag of salt. neway if the perlite is very well drained, with no sittind water at the bottom, then i dont know what you're problem would be. what is your light cycle?

Honestly, I'm not really sure if the light is safe. Whats the worst that could happen? (that is not rhetorical, by the way. Answers would be appreciated.)
Also, I don't have a light cycle yet, because I finished this terrarium about 3 hours ago. I was thinking I'd turn the light on for about 6 hours a day.

You probably don't need the light inside .. I had one inside for a while and it seems to drop the humidity. Looks good though.

if you have only had the terrarium that long try putting the lid on and going to sleep. patience is the hardest thing to learn in this hobby. in the morning, if the humidity is still 60% go to a thrift store. I found a coolmist humidifier(impeller type) for 2 dollars. you can tube that in to make up for the humidity

I think your right burmesepsylicibe. Maybe I'm just too excited about it. I'll wait until tomorrow to start worrying about it.
And no, the light isn't grounded, and I'm thinking it's intended for indoor use. You don't think its a fire hazard do you?

im giving you 5 shrooms for putting the issue under your pillow. ive been in this hobby over a year and havent gotten a shit ton of shrooms, but the hobby itself is so fun. i love learning and trying new stuff. i like the terrarium by the way, RR seemed to do right by that rig.

if you have any thought that it might be a fire hazard it would be worth it to just find another way around the problem.
The last thing you want is to come home to your house in cinders and the fire department just discovered what the cause of the fire was...
