the mimosa hostilis

Years ago, there was a Mimosa tree in my front yard my mother always said was from Costa Rica. It grew out like a Giant sling shot, had fern like leafs and pink fuzzy balls that would fall all over the yard. It was cut down years ago. You think its at all possible that the roots of this tree would still remain in the ground where this tree once stood?

i've worked in construction for a few years and always used to come across old roots that were still in tact. they probably are rotten, but hey, there's a chance, man. grab a fucking shovel!

If it was a tree and had pink fuzzy balls then it was probably a "silk tree" Albizia julibrissin. Search the latin name and look at the pics. They grow all over the temperate United States.

It's an Albizia... everyone uninformed seems to call them "mimosa", even though they aren't... oh well...
I have some M. hostillis seeds, if you want to make a trade or anything.

It is. They are all over the place here. I don't think they contain DMT. I walk right past some on the way to get my Hostilis out of the mail box.
The flowers and bark supposedly contain some antidepressant qualities but I have not really looked into much or experimented with it any yet. Now would be a good time I guess since they are in full bloom.

My NATIONAL AUDUBON SOCIETY NATIONAL FIELD GUIDE TO THE SOUTHEASTERN STATES identifies it as MIMOSA for it's common name.

Well, that is it's common name... what I mean was that it's not even in the Mimosa genus.

Nothing other than it's an antidepressant. I'd tell you if I knew but I'd have to google it as it's been a while since I looked into it. You can do that though too...

I know what ya mean. I hate bad names like that too. They are there though and if you refer to it by any other name 99.9% of local people won't know what the hell we are talking about.

how do they reproduce? do the seeds come in pods? if so, that would mean the tree down the street is a mimosa and is in full bloom
