Hometowns.

I'm rapidly busting through the range of possibilities and life options my hometown has to offer me...it seems so difficult to pack up and start somewhere new, seeing as it would be the first experience out of parental clutches. However, the thought of stunting my growth any further in this much beloved, but stifling place is nauseating.
Are any of you in this position? If so, how are you, or how do you plan to handle it?
For the rest of you who faced this teen milestone conundrum, what kind of situation have you landed yourself in?

Not yet, and I plan to avoid it all together. Next summer I'm getting my own place in another town. I'll go from there.

In bigger cities the whole cost of living gets to you quickly, and I never realized how fast paced bigger cities really were, it ended up being very stressful.

Leave. You can always go back home with your tail between your legs if you have to. Might as well go experience something new...

for a small shitty town, good man. The guy who ran the place said 54 people showed, and they fucking danced all night long. We tried to pack up and more people showed so we had to get all the shit back out, and my friend played an old school set . I had fun.

Go and explore other places while you are young. When you get older you might get more set in your ways and find that it's harder to adjust to new situations. Also, responsibility really starts to pile up after a while or you want to get married/have kids and that hampers your ability to just go somewhere else and try something new.
And if you do leave and find yourself miserable--give it 6-8 months. Hell, I've moved to some kick ass places and been totally miserable because I missed my family and friends and that's how long it took to get settled in. So pick someplace cool that you really have always wanted to explore and then give yourself time to learn to appreciate it.

Do It! If that's what is in your heart. I have moved from the West Coast (about 15 mins from the beach) to a landlocked mountainous area about 1500 miles away. I know it was the best decision I ever made.
Try to do a little research first tho. Will you have a job? What's the rent gonna be like? Can you swing it? Maybe try somewhere near an old friend or someone who can help you get started while you still maintain your independence.
I didn't have the option of going home if it didn't work out so I just took the jump.

I was in the exact same position. I thought that I would stay in my hometown forever. It was safe and comfortable.
Then I moved away and I realized what a shithole it was. I could never live there again. I would have been a total waste of skin had I stayed there.
