Lacking pictures. D:

I can't get my pictures up right now as I've misplaced the cord. But anyways the weather in Dallas has been great for mushrooms lately (sprinkles, cloudy and 80s) and I've got some type of mushrooms growing abundantly in my garden. I can't tell if it's growing on wood under the soil and grass, or if it's growing directly on the soil and gras, but I know it enjoys decaying wood (I have a tree stump in my garden and I think it's growing off of it and spreading).

Anyways the mushrooms start out small with a orangish conic cap that has some white flakes on it, with a thick white stem. But as the mushrooms grow they are less conic and more flat and wide, the gills don't come down much, and the cap becomes smooth and tan-brown. The gills go from white as young to brown when older, and there are dark brown markings on the thin (become thin as mature) white stems from spores. Could it be an edible agaricus? (there are tons of the mushroom and I'd like to make a meal out of 'em) or maybe something active? No bruising is apparent? They seem like pretty basic LBM's with brown spores, I really shuld get some pictures for more details. I'll take some measurements as well.

They sort of resemble shaggy manes in their conic shape with the flakes but the flakes are white and the cap is a orangish brown. Hmm I really do need to find that cord for my camera.

The description doesn't suggest agaricus. Are the gills attached to the stem? Is there a persistent veil or a universal veil?
How thick are the stems in relation to the cap?
One thing you could do is go over to rogersmushrooms.com, click on visual key, click on agaricus (second page) and see if your mushrooms resemble those species shown.
