Is my 'friend' an informant?

I've known this guy for about 3 years. We've been drinking buddies & have been pretty close friends, but when it comes to women, he's quick to turn on his friends.
One time, over a year ago, I had a party, and I caught him in my bed, with a girl I'd told him I was crushing on. I wouldn't have cared so much if he'd have taken it somewhere else, but he did it on MY bed, in MY house, on my brand new sheets, that I'd just bought that day. I walked into my room and seen them, and he told me, "Get out." I snapped. I beat the shit out of him...left him with a lumped up face, crying like a little bitch. He wouldn't even try to fight back cause he knew I would've murdered him.
Anyways, we got over all that shit and had been hanging out for several months. Then one night, when he was leaving my house, he got pulled over after he'd been drinking. I didn't know about it, but he had weed in his car. The cops let him go with tickets for possession of marijuana and driving after consuming alcohol, while being under 21. (he was 20)They also gave him a card and said "If you drop names, we drop charges." He swears up and down he didn't rat anyone out, but he got let off pretty easy. All he had to do was a few hours of community service and some drug classes, which he still hasn't done, and is now coming up on the deadline for.
Fast forward about 6 months. My roommate breaks up with his girlfriend of 4 months, and she moves into the apartment directly above my sketchy friend. She acted like it was the only apartment left in town, but me and my roommate knew something was up. My roommate told him, whatever you do, don't fuck my ex. My sketchy friend, has/had a long time girlfriend, but we all knew he'd cheated on her several times and he was a dog like that.
So my sketchy friend's roommate told us a couple weeks ago that them two had been fuckin around. I'd been suspicious anyways, because she was always leaving her dog with him, and stuff in his house... like her laptop. Which she always used to keep over here when she was going out with my roommate.
Anyways, last night he got a DUI in a part of the state known for being hard on drug offenders. He blew a .16, twice the legal limit, but he never even saw a holding cell. They let him sign himself out, with no bail. All he needed was a sober friend to pick him up. I've gotten a couple DUIs before and I've known several people who've gotten DUIs and I've NEVER heard of anyone getting let go the same night, let alone on NO BOND.
He didn't tell anyone this. He told the ex-gf, who told my roommate. When I told him I knew, he got very defensive, wondering who I'd heard it from, and was obviously hiding something... but he admitted to it all. I started to hint that I knew about him and my roommate's ex-gf, and he decided he was tired and had to go to sleep, suddenly. I didn't even mention, that I'd heard that his girlfriend, who is one of the sweetest women I've ever met, broke up with him over the DUI. Still haven't talked to her about it to find out the details. I'm thinkin there's more to the story.
Has anyone else ever heard of someone getting let go, the same night, for a DUI? and on no bond? Not even getting past the magistrate's office? My friend has a lot of illegal dirt on friends of his, and I think I've got a snitch on my hands. Is this a fair assumption, or am I being paranoid?

either way this guy sounds like a complete douche/waste of life, so you'd probably be best off not being friends with him.

Sounds like somethings shady's up to me. They usually are pretty hardcore about DUI's nowadays (as you probably know)

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's just confirming in my heart, what I know is true. It sucks, cause he's a pretty good guy. Just not much of a friend.

Fuck the guy man, I wouldn't even waste my time talking or being his friend again. You shoulda never started hanging out with him. You should just get rid of him somehow (not murder...) Just tell him off or something, tell him you dislike how he's respecting people, your friends, women, etc. and tell him not to come around.

Me too
Oh, and I actually did read the story (my first response was a joke directed at the topic title)
I still stand by killing him with fire, and he sounds douchey anyway

I don't understand why many people here associate themselves with pieces of shit offline. You should know what to do after this long.

Yes. There's no way they'll try to steal your alcohol or fuck your girlfriend.

really, when it gave you the warning that this is an old thread and are you sure you want to make this post you thought "Drugs make people do funny things and you should cut it off before it gets out of control. " was worth bumping a 2 year old thread?
