I just saw this for the first time on IFC the other night... VERY good movie!
And yes, it was very freaky. Especially when the guy would have one of his attacks and that high pitched noise would start.
It left me feeling very very odd for a while after I saw it.

I can't tell if I love or hate that feeling that I get from movies like this....
It's almost like tripping in the sense that it definately makes you feel ALIVE!

This director does a good job as "requiem" left me with that same eerieness.

I saw it a while ago. I was very good, but disturbing at the same time. I wouldn't trip and see this flick though. Possiblitity of brain damage is too high

It took that guy years to make that movie and he used only like 15 grand of the money he collected from his friends to make it. For what its worth its pretty good. WIth a major budget backing it, it would have been better. But for an independent it was all in all and good got you thinking kinda flick

this same guy also made 'requiem for a dream' which is perhaps even more disturbing but equally great. Most people i know that liked Pi also loved Requiem so i suggest everybody checks it out..

I was gonna mention 'Requiem' - that was also good. I watched the edited version, not sure what was cut out for that version.

There is a WHOLE LOTTA MO' `Jennifer Connely nude dancin...That's enough to rent the uncut version for IMO.

I AGREE THEN! I'll have to get the uncut version. I thought maybe it was a lot of the shooting up stuff was cut out but I really wanted to see more with the 2 chicks 'ASS TO ASS! ASS TO ASS!'

I rented Requiem and I didn't care for it. I must have got the "cut" version because there was no nude dancing --that I remember. That would have made it a little better. I just thought the film went too far with the drug simulation effects and that got very annoying. That could be the point of the film but it felt like getting punished for watching. I've done smack and it wasn't really like that for me. It is an interesting film though.

Yeah I've known lots of junkies and have never heard of someone having to get their arm cut off but I suppose it's possible. I thought the film was pretty mechanical with it's filmshots but I enjoyed it. I wasn't sure it was smack they were doing cuz they seemed to get so pumped up and I don't remember my eyes dialating like that on smack, I thought maybe it was speed and they were showing similarities of them and the guys mom that got freaked on diet pills. The edited version that I watched said 'EDITED VERSION' in big letters right at the beginning.
