I'd also like to hear about some expereances where someone gotten PR's to fruit. I've never seen it happen and it ticks me off.

Dunk and rolling helps pinning greatly.
Also, how long did they colonize? Remember, cakes take a while to colonize, about 1-2 weeks after they look all white, is a good time to birth.

I've seen them do nothing for 6+ weeks after dunking and rolling (sometimes more than once) while sitting right next to other cakes (B+, TC, PE, etc) that were happily flushing away.

i've never had a problem with them. the bumps might be mutants. what kind of light are you giving them? are you misting them?

They get indirect sunlight and a ceiling lamp. No misting but I have had to dunk them a couple times to try n keep em from drying out too much and i just rolled them today.

The PR's I've grown are picky and temperamental- but worth it. The fruits are smaller, and softer. Much more eatable than the Amazonian I've grown... but colonization is slower and overall production doesn't seem impressive.
But there have been exceptions:

So, it can be done, no doubt about that. The little bumps are likely pre-pins, you are probably on the right track- just keep on keeping on.
