contam?

i have a 12 inch circular bucket like thing 5 inches deep with colonated mycelium. i didnt case this at all and there are splotches of light yellow...it looks as if the mycelium is dead in those areas rather than contaminnated... has anyone had this problem before? does mycelium turn yellow when it dies? possible overlay?? help me out... thad be appreciated.

Sounds like metabolites, which means there is possibly some type of bacteria. Your bucket should fruit fine though.

i thot metabolites were liquidy...cause these yellow patches just look matted down... thanx, i hope your right...

I can't think of any other light yellow contams. I could be wrong but I would bet its just a case of metabolites. I personally have had metabolites that wouldnt wipe off but the casings I worked with still fruited.
