Last question before I start!

Ok, I'm starting TODAY!!! But I have one more question. First of all, I'm using a 10 gallon aquarium covered in sterilized saran wrap for my fruiting/incubation chamber. I'm also using Filter Discs. My question is would it do any good to incubate in the aquarium WITH perlite and lids off (of course leaving discs on). I figure this way, No outside contams can get in, and since I have sterilized the whole aquarium with alchohol and lysol there should be no contams in there to start with. I dont plan on opening to fan at all (because they're still in the jars neways.) I just figured this will allow for some extra gas exchange in the jars. Thanks in advance for your help.

Don't do it! The teks have you keep those lids on for a reason, there is a little micro-climate in there that the mycelium likes during its development. Removing the lids, regardless of your intentions, puts you at risk for failure unnecessarily. Just follow the tek.

hi!
I wouldn't have the jars in the fruiting box while incubation lasts.
Yor filters may become wet, thats not good. Also, the mycelium needs a little oxygen, and if you dont fan , the fungus might get no O2.
I always put my jars with the filter on the bottom, so the carbon dioxyde can fly away...
