Water in grow chamber

Is it ok if the water level reaches the bottom of the cake in the chamber? I would think that it would be absorbed by the vermiculate, is there any problem with this

Yes, your cake will wick up too much moisture and start giving off water logged mushrooms (fat-asses). Also, standing water is a good place for contamination to breed, I hope you're using a lot of H202.

I use a turkey baster to suck up excess water each day so it doesn't reach the cakes.
