Casing pics, Feedback please!
    #7365606 - 09/03/07 10:11 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Here are a pics of my casings, I also have one cake in one of my bins. Let me know what you think, please critique and give any helpful info.

Using a coir/verm casing. Same mix for bottom layer, 3 1 pint WBS per casing, (besides casarol dish)

*Made mistake, put casings directly into FC*

looks solid all around, good/even breakthrough of mycelium, except 009..hes kinda behind, but i wouldnt worry any about him. =)

the only critique i can offer is to not use a bottom casing layer, its unnecessary..can harbor contaminations, and takes up valuable substrate room.

So your saying next time try and put the crumbled cakes directly on bottom of tray, then case that?

Bottom casing layers are more trouble then they are worth. Crumbling the cakes to the bottom of the pan would work better. Why are you straight casing? The yeild would be the same if you simply birthed the cake. If you are looking for larger yeilds spawn your cakes to coir or horse poo.

Are you happy for a miracle?

That is coir.  Am I missing something?

EDIT:  I'm an idiot.  Totally messed this up.  Kick in the stomach.  DOH.  I guess i'll remember that there is  HUGE difference to spawning to coir and casing with coir.

First grow, first huge mistake, accepting being a newbie is the first step.

And i thought i did my homewo:mad2:rk
