Mini Straw Bale from Wal-mart? Any luck anybody?

Hello all, I have in my posession one of those mini bales of straw from wall-mart, and I am planning on pastuerizing it along with some worm castings, and spawning with rye/millet. A few questions:

looks like wheat straw, but how can I tell?

anybody have success here with it?

anybody know if it is treated with fungicide?

Wheat straw is yellowish...

...any yellowish straw should work.

I doubt that it's treated with fungicides and I bet it will work just perfect. Good luck!

I think those mini-bales are Timothy Hay. It will work. Make sure you drain it well after pastuerization..Timothy Hay can get a little more soggy than wheat straw
