On wednesday morning of this week i was walking along, minding my own, when i spotted a liberty cap in someones garden.
the patch of grass was only about 8 ft squared, after much rummaging around on my hands and knees i found about 20 or so.
After that i decided to go and check a few of the locations i picked at last year.
Last year i found another garden, it's a beautiful garden with 2 small grass areas, the liberty caps seem to love this lawn, despite being quite a small garden i've seen me pick upwards of 200 shrooms there in as little as 10 minutes, although the little old dude who lives in the house doesn't appreciate me raping his lawn and often knocks on his window in an attempt to scare me off.
Well, would you believe i found another 20 or so there, so i'd 40 shrooms on wednesday afternoon, it was quality, a taste of things to come over the next few months, mild little trip, i listened to white stripes and maximo park and smoked some doobies, it was a great day.
I went back yesterday and looked in both gardens, there were a few but they were very small, so i left them, i might go back at the weekend, i'll keep you guys posted.
Best of luck this season guys.
P.S: I live in glasgow, there's a driving range near me, last year i'd go there in the morning when nobody was there tee'ing off, lest i be struck on the bonce with a golf ball, and pick upwards of 1,000 mushies, i've a few good spots, but this year i'm going to include cyanescens in my search, any of you uk shroomers ever found cyanes? What type of habitat did you find them in? Do they fruit at the same time as libs? Earlier? Later?

hey there!!
cyans are very rare! do your research on them as there are alot of look alike that WILL kill you,
they are a woodland shroom, be warey of any that grow near a dead alive birch tree, but pick them anyway! they like shade especially under big leaves, so look under bushes, take a mate and pretend ur playing football, finding a cyan mean u get dirty n ya hands n knees, i wanna go looking some point ove rhte weekend at the woods round the back,
cyans never used to be rare at all, mum used ot take m to epping forest and i always used to see them n try and eat them, mum stopped me everytime!! damn her!

Psilocybe cyanescens are rare in the UK, in the US they are common in some regions.
Also, they are not a woodland mushroom. The grow most usually from landscaped woodchip beds in urban environments.

Cheers for the input guys.
I know a couple of woodchipped areas, i know of one in particular, a childrens play area, there are a lot of trees around and the area is pretty well shaded, seems it would be a good place to look.
I won't stop searching for libs, i'll just extend my search to include cyanes.
It's been quite cold and cloudy today, looks like it may rain, it did for a while earlier, i'm thinking of checking out those gardens over the weekend, wish me luck, happy hunting!

Ah the great UK mushroom season is on its way, I have been watching the weather and I think if you give it 2-4 weeks the temps will drop enough, and a bit of rain and voila, off to my liberty patch for another great haul
Good luck to all for this year.

I think it's gonna be a good year. There has to be some benefit to all this bloody rain we've had!!!
I had a quick glance over a spot just yesterday (sheep grazing) and didn't see anything yet. Will shout as soon as I see anything.

Weather still warm in the day and dry, no rain for a few days here. Temperature has dropped to about 8c or lower at night so its looking good.
