Ancient memories
    #7358708 - 09/01/07 11:54 AM (16 years, 6 months ago)

So I have been feeling like I am a great Threadkiller in this forum. This got me to wondering if there are any others here who believe and/or have ancient memories?

That's what I call them. Your phrase may differ.

since childhood i have had unexplainable yearnings that feel anceint, or related to the "past"... i stress the word feel because it really is an energetic experience.

i'm not really convinced that "time" is truly linear, that is merely our perception of it.

Yeah, I'm not really meaning like a flashback to a previous incarnation or anything. Just moments of what feels like incredible lucidity where knowledge of Ancient things seems to stream thru. Sometimes under the influence, sometimes not. Sounds like you understand what I am saying.

I feel the same way about time. It's just a way of keeping track.

yes. i just realized that these feelings are usually triggered when i am thinking about ideas or concepts that seem to have held true for long periods over various civilizations. depending on the thoughtform, it is a feeling of completely transcending any particular "time" and place, or a sense of a very specific period and location.

my first experience of this was when i was 11 or so- i had feelings of strong connection with farming life in rural china what seemed like thousands of years ago. like you say, not a "flashback", but something...

Mine always goes to ancient forests with trees so huge you can't see their tops. And I just know there's knowledge, such knowledge that can be absorbed there. Sometimes I'm lucky and a tiny drop is granted to me. Like a drop of water in a cool, pure river.

It's not just the trees it comes from, but the trees are part of it.

I lived in the redwoods for a time. They sure are big but have little to say. Unless you're on acid.

Well, yes I have experienced stuff on acid but alot of times there are no drugs involved. And I had these feelings before I have ever done drugs.

I have always wanted to visit the giant redwoods. Been to No and So Cali but never made it there.

I have definatly felt dejavous and wondered if this was due to some sort of impresioning or even reincarnation. I bet my spirit used to belong to a native american spiritualist.

Thinking as far back or forward as is possible, it's the same echo.

Interesting. Has me going "Hmmmm". Care to elaborate?

Although I myself find words so inadequate sometimes. It can be difficult to explain certain feelings.

truekimbo2, where did you get that term from? I didn't think I'd ever heard it before I began using it myself to explain my own experiences.

I think of instincts as a kind of ancient memory. Its like the body has all these ancient experiences programmed in to it. Like when you smell something and you know its poisonous. The body has learnt from the experiences of our ancestors and kind of "remembers" how to behave.

just seemed the best term to use, they've very clearly memories and not imagination, but they haven't happened, and seem take place in my future.

morphogenetic field anyone?

@truekimbo, what do you make out of these images? have you found a way to integrate them into your present moment in life?

no. i used to feel like i had to be aware and make certain choices to make sure that my memories actually occurred, but i never saw anything that made me believe they actually would, and now i don't really care that much about them.

there are times when i see myself clearly in a future situation and at some synchronistic moment i find myself consciously acting out the vision, just the way i have imagined/remembered it.

maybe in my dreams i make decisions that i carry out into manifestation here in the physical realm, or in some way my higher self makes choices which i only become aware of after the conditions for manifestation are already defined..

who knows. :mushroom2:

i feel the same way. Except my dejavus experiances relate to when i was a child, as if the premonitions where strong then, and i saw 15 years into the future in some cases. crazy crazy.. :yinyang:
