Smoking Yopo?

There was a post a little while ago about a vendor that sells prepared yopo snuff... so, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't the chemical reaction when you prepare yopo convert the DMT into freebase form? If so, couldn't you just buy the yopo snuff and smoke a dose?

I've heard that it just simply doesn't work that way with yopo... I can't remember why off the top of my head though.  It's supposed to taste like shit, and the effects are mild at that.  Some people don't experience any effects at all from smoking it. Although... I don't think they had it prepared, I think the seeds were just baked and ground.

I would say that you should do it the shaman's way and have a trip sitter/trip buddy blow it up your nose.

Honestly though... I have heard this provides the best experience with yopo.  I may try it some day, but not any time soon.  I know a few people who have though.

Read some trip reports so you know what you are getting yourself into.

Yopo as in crushed Cebil seeds?
hmm. I don't think it's very effective when smoked.. never was in my experience, anyhow..

and i could never have someone blow that shit into my sinuse cavaties!

Yeah, I'm not really planning on doing it anytime soon... I'm most likely do it when I'm a little older and more experienced. My first mushroom comeup freaked me out a little bit, so I'm going to wait until I have a few more trips up my sleeve. Right now, I'm planning on an LSA extraction...

I don't know that Yopo blow would work out for most of us.
I just don't see pain leading into a great trip.

Maybe if one practiced mortification of the flesh in their religious life, things would be different. But most of us aren't doing that.

I've snorted a dose of mescaline... the pain was kind of intense but short lived and MOST DEFINITELY worth it.

Yopo is another story... I'd really have to prepare myself for that kind of trip.

I thought I read in Plants of the Gods that Yopo is mainly bufotenin?? And small amounts of 5-MEO-DMT and N,N-DMT??

I've gotten more effects from smoking N,N-DMT by itself.
Perhaps you could have someone blow spice into your sinus cavities??
You've got to remember, the object isn't snorting this stuff...
it's having it BLASTED into your sinus cavities..

I'm glad you brought that up actually.

I'm not 100% sure it was mescaline, but due to the fact that it was a very very small amount of encapsuled powder... I kind of believed it. I was told at the time how many mg's it was, but I can't for the life of me remember now; this was like 5 years ago. The pile of powder was about the size of an eraser head on a pencil... a little smaller actually. I simply popped open the capsule and poured out the contents onto a piece of paper and snorted it.

It kind of hurt, but wasn't unbearable, and I immediately started to become nauseas... I ended up yacking in my friends bushes about 15 minutes later, and even before then I was having some pretty intense audio and visual hallucinations.

what do you think it was yage? I don't mean to hijack this topic or anything, but since we are on the topic of insufflation...

I think it was a 2c-x substance. Pretty amazing in their own right.

I think you snorted 20+ mgs of 2c-i or 2c-e. Not 300+ mgs of nose friendly mescaline powder.

Thats what I think.

It converts bufotenin into calcium bufotenate. DMT and 5-MeO-DMT are in low concentrations but yes, they should achieve freebase form. Smokable? Possibly, but you'll be wasting a huge amount of bufotenin.

BTW, calcium bufotenate is a high intensity entheogen where bufotenine sulfate/hydrochloride and freebase bufotenine are rather mild versions of 5-MeO-DMT.

I'd have to say that you are right, yage. This was back when I was only 15 years old... so I was pretty naive and believed what the guy had told me (it was mescaline, but he probably didn't even know either)- 20mg's sounds about right for the dose. I didn't know anything about mescaline at the time; so I wouldn't have had the slightest idea. In fact the first time I had even heard of mescaline was during this situation.
