EL Ciervo Vulnerado
I've been drinking black myrrh again the closer we part i needed to touch your lips with the nail in my heart the night that you caught me my coffin did walk i fell at your mercy i fell in your grave mecca amputechture that stands in my way the younger i stay an elderly child the longer the mirror gives birth to the death i file
if you consume me i will not let you endure if you walk right through me my voice will taint your throat blessed be blessed be and all i've done
someone is watching us someone has found fluorescent ligaments on a black white tile why do you call them if your kingdom won't come the younger i stay forever i rot
if you consume me i will not let you endure if you walk right through me my voice will taint your throat blessed be blessed be and all i've done
because the flies my mouth spill bare the children at play
any other Mars Volta fans lurking around here? could be my obsessions expanding to fill all space, but i relate this song to ayahuasca or any ego transcending experience. penny for your thoughts gov'nor

The Mars Volta is one of the best bands on earth. Their music is so well constructed and perfect for tripping.
Ever listen to "Televators" while tripping? It'll take you to whole new worlds

Yeah the Volta is one of my favorite bands. If you like the volta you should definately check out some of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez's solo work. Se Dice Bisonte, No Bùfalo is an excelent album.

LOVE The Mars Volta. Everything they've done is pure fuckin' gold.
And Rodriguez solo stuff is fucking great as well. Especially his self-titled acid jazz one. It's like Amputechture without the lyrics and more jazzy of course.

Glad people here have such great music tastes
Anyone enjoy Circa Survive? Not nearly as trippy as The Mars Volta yet still trippy with heavily drug influenced lyrics as well.

Anyone into the volta should check out DeFacto.

That's definitely a cool song to listen to while tripping. Just thinking of it makes me want to do it again.

Wish Resign is amazing. Do you have the new album? Travel Hymn and On Letting Go are probably my favorites although its very hard to choose I saw them live at Warped Tour this last weekend and they blow the entire crowd away live.
Other bands I enjoy while tripping are Muse, The Blood Brothers, Rx Bandits, and These Arms Are Snakes - Mescaline Eyes is such a great song, even though I haven't obtained Mescaline yet, I listened to it on mushrooms and well...wow.

Im ashamed to say that i havent picked up the new circa cd yet...i know..I need to get with it. I love Rx Bandits as well, they put on a great show. and their jazzy, jam-band, like sound is great.
My favorite Mescaline trip (65 grams of Peruvian torch in a dream one night) was when i just moved in to my apartment. I lined up all the tool albums in order, followed by all the mars Volta albums, in order, and just listened. Thats all i did was float on the music. Once the Tool albums were done i was peaking and then here comes Inertiatic ESP by Mars volta.
The shamans of the amazon have their beautiful icaros,, and i have my mars volta/tool/shpongle albums.;)
I just checked out These Arms Are snakes a minute ago..i like that video with the pink horse flying around through the city haha

That's a video from their newest cd, Easter. Its one of my favorite cds out of all the cds in the world. They put on an amazing live show. Steve Snere, the singer has been known to do shows under the influence under all kinds of drugs including mescaline, LSD, shrooms, etc. He was just pretty drunk when I saw them though.

My friend played "Televators" when we were toking and I really liked it. Unfortunately, he only wants to lusten to it when high, which I think is stupid; if a song is good, it shouldn't matter whether you're high or not.
Anyways, I probably should buy an album of theirs.

that sounds like its gonna be a great album...just like all the rest.
