I've certainly thought I was dying/dead/never existed on LSD. Isn't that and thinking you've gone insane for the rest of your life the classic bad trips? It's a long time since I've done acid and I've only started doing mushrooms again recently but I'd say the most noticeble difference is LSD makes you feel "wired" whereas mushrooms never do and often actually make you feel sleepy. But I bet in a blind test a lot of people (me included) couldn't tell the difference.

from what i've experienced, shrooms cause you to think faster
lsd causes you to think slower
that is why many people think lsd is easier to handle

i completely disagree, although my thoughts go further out there and *abstract* on shrooms, my acid thoughts go WAY faster and spiral out rapidly to new theories and visions. my shroom thoughts go slowly and i spend a lot of time contemplating ideas and realizations i have while tripping. they are both equally beneficial to me, but in different ways. they are definately distinguishable in my opinion even though i have done shrooms many times and lsd only a few

LSD was more reality based for me. mushrooms are usually too deep for me to get much out of it, other than strange simple things that happen that fill me emotionally in a way acid doesn't.

for me LSD can be like super intense psycho-analysis, mushrooms are like a dream that if i have the right attitude, has very pleasant parts.

In my case, mushrooms would teach me a lot but I always had to make a conscious effort to integrate what I'd learnt into my every day left. When I tried LSD, I felt completely changed- I felt more connected to everything, happier- basically, like my mind had been spiritually cleansed.

Trying to make an objective statement about which substance is more beneficial, however, is completely ridiculous. In my case, LSD did more for me in terms of changing my perceptions of the world and my spiritual beliefs. Some people find LSD feels synthetic and nasty, some find it induces mind blowing, ecstatic spiritual states of mind. Some people find mushrooms simply confusing, while some gain incredible revelations from them. Some people find the acid come down a long and gruelling process, whereas some (myself included) find it to be one of the most beautiful experiences there is.

It ultimately depends on you and how you react to these substances. Neither is more valid, beneficial or spiritual than the other- each person's mind simply reacts with these chemicals in a different way, resulting in hugely varied subjective effects. For me, mushroomss work very well to induce increased thoughts and analysis of the situation I'm in, whereas LSD makes me aware of the connection my mind has to everything, and through this connection shows me that all negativity is an internal process. LSD has, therefore, made my life significantly better, but I don't disregard mushrooms.

This is all just me. Experiment with both substances and you'll likely find one you prefer, but realise that each has its place in your life.

glad you said that ellis, because i think DXM is the most benificial, but i was scared of being mocked for it...

Even though that was a joke, I think it's true. Some people get just as much out of Ketamine and DXM as others do from LSD. I really hate the "my drug is better than yours" attitude a lot of people seem to take.

i'm of course not asking anyone for an "objective" statement, cause there is no such thing as "objectivity", rather the common denominator of all/many subjective opinions
and that is, what i'm asking for:
subjective opinions on the subject

did you find, that any of those two did improve your rhetorical skills, like forming more complex and detailed sentences, structuring your sentences in a better and more comprehensible way, matching and patching ideas faster and argumenting better and faster?
and if so, which one is that?
not while under the influence, but when being sober again ?

I haven't personally had a chance to try LSD, but in my own experience mushrooms have been immensely beneficial. Correct me if I'm wrong, but mushrooms seem to create a more socially aware experience, while LSD might be more introspective.

As a hopeless introvert, mushrooms have helped me treat those around me with greater compassion and awareness. We'll see what LSD does. :-)

i think everyone is gonna react slightly different...if you want to look at the world in a new perspective take shrooms...if you want to embrace the world, take lsd.  That is my opinion on the matter.  My favorite personally is lsd but i still loooovvvee shrooms  :discodance:

i'm more extroverted on acid by far. on shrooms i'm more likely to sit down in a spot on my own and just think and watch, not contributing much to the social scene at the time, although there are exceptions. on acid i like to share a lot of my tripping theories and thoughts with those around me. thats just me

Personally I am more philisophical on mushrooms, I tend to think about and analyze things in the real world more, but LSD has been very beneficial to me in my future profession. I had read somewhere that many computer scientists took large doses of LSD when working through complex algorithms to help expand their minds and ways of thinking. To me shrooms are more of a mindfuck and LSD has lapses of very clear thinking. LSD also makes me very impulsive happy and carefree for the next week after tripping. I find both drugs to be a fun and spiritual experience and tool.

LSD was an experience that I have never duplicated I felt I was seeing the world through a window of understanding a new version of what i had seen before when i use shrooms or other stuff i feel like i am chasing the feeling of being on LSD

Too much bad shit can happen on mushrooms i swear. All you have to do is think about it for one second, and then you start getting thought loops on what all could happen from that original thought and then you lose control. Then it starts happening to you.


I feel you are almost a pet to the mushrooms, you be on good behavior and do all the right shit your supposed to do. Then you'll have good beneficial trips. But make no mistake, they have an almost "humorous" side to them.

That's why I can't wait to get a hold of some good cid. Shrooms have to much humour to them.

Well I tried mushrooms for the first time yesterday so now I can add my 2 cents to this argument. For me they were very similar. However there were noticeable differences such as I felt more connected to music with mushrooms and also trails were much more interesting. Also it seemed in times of mental excitement, ex: when I was playing the guitar, that visuals would become more pronounced. I liked it very much and kinda am leaning towards saying I enjoyed the mushrooms better. However acid changed me more. Whether or not this is simply because of place in line I won't know but shrooms felt more like a recreational drug to me than acid. I'm sure higher doses are different but I've had low doses of acid and I still feel the same.

Another interesting thing is unlike lsd, where bad thoughts would always come up but I would just shove them off, bad thoughts never came with the mushrooms. Of course I'm not considering set and setting enough but still it was only good times on mushrooms. I didn't care at all about the world around me.
