Do you have to poke a hole in your lids before your put them in a pot/pressure cooker?
What ingrediants can i use if i don't have a pressure cooker. I've been using bird seed but i keep seeing that i need a pressure cooker for this what can i use with out a pressure cooker, besides Brown rice flour
I poked holes on my lids before I boiled the jars in a pot and didn't have any problems... Just make sure to cover the tops with tinfoil after you poke the holes. Also, I didn't have a pressure cooker, so I just used a pot with a lid and tinfoil wrapped around the rim of the lid. I put a washcloth beneath the jars so they did not get too much heat. I used the brf/vermiculite method for my jars and everything I did worked perfectly. None of my jars got contaminated using these methods.
