On May fourth Bush signed an executive order that could ensure that he wont have to relinquish office in 2009.This order NSPD-51 didnt receive any media coverage it was only dicovered when it became unclassified. So in a loosely defined "catastrophique emergency"(ex: terrorist attack) he can assume control of all governmental functions. As if 8 years of that bastard wasnt the worst thing that happened to the world already.

Haha, If that happened people would drag him out into the street by his ear and trow him in the gutter... possibly lighting him on fire while they do so. It would be worth this being true just to see his ass get handed to him in response.
Here's the bill: http://www. whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html

Thats funny, just the other day I was thinking "They haven't finished their "job" yet, they are not going to just step down & hand away so much power."
I just found this press release on the white house web site, dated May 9, 2007, I'm still going through it to see what it's about. But it doesn't sound good. National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive
There are also more here, CNN.com search.
NATIONAL SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/NSPD 51
HOMELAND SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/HSPD-20
I think its time to enact the coup d'état directive.

Considering all the controversy about 9/11 being an inside job its entirely possible that he would do it again just to stay in office

Sounds like there is no controversy in your mind. Bush staying in office past his second term is about as likely as explosives being used to bring down the WTC.

If he is in office any longer than 8 years there will be many people on their way to DC. I think abusing the constitution should be grounds for treason, and punished as such.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the american people aren't stupid enough to let him stay in office even one second longer than he's supposed to.
At least I hope so.

If everyone started to protest they could call it an economic catastrophe or disruption to government function, whatever and enact their thing.
NSPD 51 / HSPD-20 Definitions (B)"Catastrophic Emergency" means any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions;

it would be interesting to see what kind of loopy logic that john roberts and sam alito would use to uphold constitutionality...but even if they dont..king george could still be POTUS for life in a less literal policy-wise sense of the word...and thats doubly true if giuliani replaces him...in fact..even KG for life would be a lesser evil than the giuliani dictatorship...

I swear, I have been telling people this for years now. Reason? So that I could say 'I told you so!' when it finally happens.
To those of you that have not left the North American Union yet, err... North America, then you'd better hope other countries start excepting refugees.
That's going a bit far, but I am confident he'll stay in office. America is fucked and it's taking everyone else too. I mean, there aren't going to be riots and protests with people burning Bush. Americans have been raised on one value, money. If you get fucked up or jailed because of one protest, you can't make money and your life is fucked. Excuse my terms. People may see the problem, but they won't believe they alone can do something about it - because they probably can't. And if they try, they'll lose everything they worked for.
Bush is in a good place, domestically, and internationally he's still winning the arms race.
What needs to happen is all creditors need to call in the debts America owes and bankrupt the government. Unfortunately, this would be an economic crisis, Bush could stay in power, say everyone was against freedom abd bomb the 'terrorists that hate American Freedom'.

Could you source that a little better than the directive cite? I cannot find support for what you claim this directive establishes. Lets not loose our minds over this untill its clear what the directive says- someone indicate how it establishes anything like what's alleged in the above.
By the way, the president cannot serve more than four years without being reelected. The very first part of article II says
Quote:
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:
So could someone kindly explain this nonsense?

You saved fifteen minutes or so of your life from being wasted because of course (surprise surprise) there is no part that says he gets to stay president.
