Posting shrooms in Europe

So, this friend of mine asked me to send him some shrooms by post. He wants 30gr dry to be able to trip with his mates.
They would be going from Spain to Germany. How secure is it to do this?
I was planning on putting them in a ziplock bag, then surround by newspaper and post it in one of those cardboard poster tubes, writing crappy "Happy birthday" and "hope you like these" messages in bright coloured pens on it, to make it look like a birthday present.
It would have a fake sender address and I'd go to an out of town post office to post it.
Do postguys have any way of detecting shrooms in a package? dogs, or x-rays or something?

The chances are 50-50. I received an salvia cutting in mail which is illegal in here and it came through without any hassles. Other time I ordered some ayahuasca from an online vendor and it got sent back to them with notice that it was illegal, although I'm not aware of the contents of huasca being illegal. Go figure.

I'd say it's not worth it, receiving such an amount could easily get your friend into a large amount of trouble, and mushrooms are easy for appropriately trained dogs to detect.

so they do actually train dogs to detect mushrooms?
I always thought that as there isn't a big international shroom trade, dogs were normally trained to smell weed, cocaine, heroin, meth or extasy

I have no idea whether or not detection dogs used by European postal services are trained to detect active mushrooms, merely that it's possible to train a dog to do so.

dry out the mushrooms and powder them up.
Send your friend a couple of Cds and put baggies containing the mushroom powder behind the cd holder bit. You could fit about 30g in 3 Cd cases easy. Very inconspicuous ... as CDs are legit birthday presents.
Just send him copies or something.

Also send it to his address but send it to a different name; just in case. If the pigs turn up at his door he can claim ignorance.

I got a better idea
I don't want to make publicity or something, but give your friend this website: http://azarius.net/shrooms/mushroom_growing/ , and let him order some fresh shrooms from holland to germany

Wow, that's a good deal and it looks like Germany is one of the countries they will ship to.
To save you checking they don't ship Psilocybes to: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia (Hrvatska), Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mauritius, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Reunion Island, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States.
