Oh my god. Two guys with 7 RBI's, two guys with 2 home runs, and everyone in the lineup got at least 2 hits. I was just about to post this. The game is in the bottom of the 9th now.

This is a new record for the most runs scored in a single game by one team. Perhaps they will set the record for the most runs scored by a single team in a day record also?

The funniest thing about it is the pitcher that closed the game for the Rangers got a save even though he had a 27 run lead.

How?
I thought the tie run had to be at the plate on in the on deck circle.

He went three innings so it was a save. Is that right?

maybe i spelled it wrong.. I think it has something to do with a pitcher starting the motion and then stopping, and i think the baserunner gets a free base.
im really not sure, this is really my first season following baseball.

Yeah, any pitcher that throws three innings with the lead and completes the game gets a save, regardless of the score.
And a balk is what you are talking about. I don't have time to really get into it right now because I am off to work, but there are a ton of different ways that a pitcher can balk. Check out this article. I didn't proofread it first, but usually wikipedia is pretty accurate.

No, you weren't right actually. You were right about what one condition of balk is, but there are many more. The way that you described it suggests that that is the only condition in which a balk can be called.
