stressing does make sense.

but if you really want to test that theory get one cutting then. test it for its content.

then use that same peice and cut it into to making to growings of it get them the same size then stress one and dont stress the other then make an equal sized cut portion from each. extract both and see which yeilds more scientific method lol. try to make it as controled as you can and yes yes their are other varibles but still it would be an attempt if you really really want to try to know

Maybe not thinking of it as "stressing" so much as putting it on a fast before it can trip on your brain. The alkaloidal level could be merely an indication of its readiness to experience your mind post fasting, rather than a defense.

That is hella-stretching it^

It isn't like the cactus is aware that you are about to eat it, let alone, trip out on its chemicals.

It would make more sense to grow healthy cacti giving it all the nutrients, etc possible. Sorta like growing mushrooms...

But then you have to eat 3 feet of cactus to trip...

Stressed it can be as little as 4-5inchs

If you find that stressing works that well tell me your method of stressing. Do you follow some kind of growth pattern?

First your grow it good...so it grows big...

Then a few months before your ready to trip you began to stress it...

Then cut it, prep' it, eat it!

I wasn't saying that stressing it isn't beneficial for potency or anything

Just logically that it makes a lot more sense to grow healthy cacti, and that ofcourse the cacti doesnt think "oh, hes not watering me, and hes poking me with metal objects, he wants to trip, i better start making those alkoloids"

Did no one inform you
This cactus is the only cactus with a actual brain. It knows what you want

I think idea of stressing is the cactus is trying to produce those alkaloids to help warn off predators.

When you start stressing the cactus it thinks- "O shit I'm under attack, I better make more mescaline so this motherfucker never touchs me again"

I bet if an animal ate a mescaline cactus and tripped for 12 hours they would never eat it again!
