Anyone know where to buy a cheap gram scale for under 40 bucks?
Whats stores have em? What websites?

Check out eBay. You can find all sorts of scales used or new for under $40.

dude.. if your poor like me then go to the fuckin head shop and get one of those postage scales for 3 bux!! 1 g incriments but its pretty easy to just measure eights after it goes past 2 ounces then it fucks up a bit but not much...

I made a scale myself, for about a penny:
The half-circle is cardboard, with a plastic bag hanging from a paperclip hanger on the left side. On the right side, is a penny taped to the cardboard. A pushpin holds the cardboard to the wall through the centre of the circle. I made calibration marks on the wall, based on the weights of coins. It makes a very accurate scale. A dime always weighs a dime, and makes the cardboard pivot to the mark.

I tried something like this before with a coat hanger and some string. It worked for the very limited use I needed it for, but I found that there was some friction from being in contact with the wall behind it and the the scale could easily be skewed a few grams in either direction just by touching or blowing on it.
On the other hand, that has got to be the absolute chapest scale I have ever seen in my life!

I got the My Weigh MX-200. It is exactly the same as your scale except weights up to 200g. Great pocket scale!

You're right Orbita...a dime does not weigh 2 grams
It weighs 2.3 grams, a penny weighs 2.5 grams

Hehe sweet post. I made one myself out of a coat hanger, a small plastic cup on one end (to fill with water) and a hook on the other (to hang mushrooms from). I calibrated it using paper clips as counter-weights (Hey, I'm cheap) and I found something that would measure out ML's of water... 1 ML = 1 gram, and it was wet weight I was dealing with so one or two grams wasn't that big of a deal.
I figure my scale was accurate to +/- .1g , haha, but then again... It probably wasn't.
