Bulk, straw vs. dung?

ello everyone. Im just wondering what peoples preferences are on bulk substrates in general and more particularly the straw and shit difference. See to me its not such a tempting idea to be using shit to grow shrooms with because, well frankly the smell. id rather my place not smell like shit. So im wondering is there any real difference as far as yield etc goes to just spawning some wbs to straw, or say another bulk substrate? Ive seen in a few other posts that people just simply have preferences and thats about as far as it goes. Is this true? or are there some real pros and cons?
Im asking because im getting ready to start fruiting my first grow (pf style tek brf pint jars) and im going to make some more b+ spore syringes out of these. I still have a full syringe of burma and im gonna use all 3 syringes on some quart wbs jars . just did the pf to get my feet wet u know?

Doesn't have to be a year old i have had fresh manure and laid it on a tarp for 2 weeks and it was ready to go.Manure is better than straw because it has beneficial bacterial and contains 20-25% decomposing matter manure is pretty much just mulched up straw since it is 60% straw (or somewhere around that figure)and manure contains firefang which mycelium thrives on.Manure that is aged does not have a bad smell just an earthy smell.

fresh manure is not preferred for many many reasons maybe YOU should do a search and learn something before posting.

It bugs me when people want advice but when they get the advice they disregard it and think they are right lol it's funny but annoying.

yeah I never said you couldn't use fresh poo, but why would you want to use it if it smells bad and hasn't developed much firefang? if you can't understand something as simple as a substrate when there is plenty of well documented information on it then I'm sure you won't have much success with your cultivation.

its about someone opening up and being an outright dick. Ive read a lot and understand plenty, i was looking at the straw teks to see if i could avoid tromping through someones fucking farm and getting shot ok. Also i can only afford to dump so much money in to shit because i have obligations. So im not going to go down and buy horse shit when its natural and free. Yeah of course next time i should search for "does shit stink" , whatever dude its not about not wanting or asking for help, i got a good response but not from hooligan, he was simply a pompous asshole. Yeah im sure u knew EVERYTHING about mycology since you were born and researched everything by yourself and had no help. thx.
btw when i said fresh shit is fine i meant it isnt required for shit to be a fucking year old. jesus christ a year? fresh= days. Im familiar with the teks thx.
I was pretty much wanting someone to bust out some more advanced knowledge like your bacterial analysis and i appriciate that....dont hate me for not wanted to read a novel on this, sometimes its easier than browsing useless threads.

It will be difficult to get fresh poo to work. Straw works well, though it pretty much gets me one flush, it is one big flush. Dried poo will give you more flushes, just depends on what you are after and what you have to work with.

hpoo by far is the best. All of the experts and semi experienced growers know it. It gives and gives, flush after flush and big ass beauties. Nothing like it. People will say yeah I get the same from coir etc...but hpoo is undeniable. And the texture is unbeatable.
But yeah, I had some nice aged hpoo in my apartment and and it does stink up the joint even aged. makes it smell like a farm. if you live on a farm thats cool, but I don't. I live in a high rise so the smell is a little out of place.
Straw has worked good for me. When I grow on straw they seem to grow nice and rigid and firm. I have had a few issues with contams, cobweb and sour smell. But I think it was due to past techniques that I didn't have quite right.
coir is a nice alternative to hpoo and so friggin easiest to work with. The easiest IMO of all the bulks and convienient.
For me it seems like a one flush wonder but I am still testing with suplements. I get a huge first flush, a nice second and the third is pretty weak.
My next batch is going to vbe a 60/20/10/10 coir/straw/cpoo/coffee Going to try and simulate the texture of hpoo with the straw and coir and bring up the nitro content with the cpoo/coffee.
Good Luck.
