Reishi in Illinois?

Is it weird that I found a reishi in Illinois? I didn't think they grew around here but i found one. Ill take pictures after my batteries charge.

If conditions are favorable, I suppose it could be possible that reishi fruit in Il. I don't know if your location is within the known distribution area of the species, so I couldn't help you there.

Ganoderma species definitely fruit in Illinois. There are some great forests in the southern portion of the state.
