alright well lately my computer has been slow as hell, and i've been giving thought to just deleting everything on the computer and starting fresh. i wouldnt have much problem with this, except for the loss of some of my music files. but then again, i can get them all back in a week, so nevermind that even.
i've run norton anti-virus full system scan multiple times, and it got rid of everything that it could, and it didnt seem to help out my computer at all. any suggestions on what to do, or how to go about starting fresh?

Spybot search and destroy to get rid of some bad shit you cook up browsing the internet.
O&O defrag or the one that comes with windows will do but i suggest this
While you download those do this-
Start-Run-msconfig-startup and i would suggest clicking disable all if theres ALOT, but your better off going through all the items and leaving the things you need like anti virus and the like

i have similar problems with my laptop.
defrag helps for a couple of days....
my comp is like night and day...it either runs nice and fast, with little problems....or its slow as all hell and struggles when multiple windows are open

if you're running a windows system sometimes it's best just to back up, format, and reinstall. It's a lot easier then spending hours hunting down a memory leak or a resource hog. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, but, if after a while you just can't figure it out just reinstall.
My lappie had been throwing up blue screens everytime i tried to shut down, so i backed up, and used dells system restore. Took about 10 mins and my laptop is running just as great as it was when i first got it.
