Amazing Isolate EATS contams!!!

This is the coolest thing that I've happened upon in this hobby, next to my shroom-on-shroom grow.
I have a PB (Thai Pink Buffalo) strain that I isolated from the largest, fastest growing fruit. This was a veil/cap tissue isolation in bacteriostatic water.
Anyhow...its INSANE...I've had two WBS jars now that initially contaminated a bit...in both cases the PB myc overtook the contams, spitting out a great deal of metabolites (myco-piss) along the way. First jar had pink mold...this current jar had green/gray trich. that was evident upon shaking...now its almost all gone and covered with healthy white Mycelium!
I'm taking photos to post, because its unbelievable...
FYI, I had other jars that had no contams. These jars were jars that had initially been inoculated and for whatever reason, they never spawned mycelium....so I tossed in some PB-isolate liquid, and within a couple days had mycelium...then some contams and mycelium...and now ONLY mycelium!
I'm going to clone this isolate forever!
ON a side note, I just watched a YouTube video with Paul Stamets explaining mushroom-based bio-remediation, and if mycelium can eat and digest oil slicks, it makes sense that they can overtake contams.

Yeah, its going to stay in my collection forever I think
I'm slowly going all-clone/isolate...this is how some people have their WBS jars colonize in 14-18 days, while others take 30+.
I've had cakes of the same multi-spore produce shat, or produce huge. Its all because I didn't have an isolate.
I think my new strategy for each new strain is: 1. FIRST test the strain on BRF...isolate the best, make an LC of that 2. THEN grow out the iso-LC on WBS to poo/straw. 3. Repeat forever until I have 5 or so strains that represent 5 or so different characteristics I look for (size, colonization speed, etc.)
In this manner, I'm never out on a shitty casing, slug-slow WBS colonization, or sub-par flush.
I took some photos, but the light doesn't show the digested trich very well...I'll try to find another way to photograph.

not to rain on your parade but all that happened is the mycelium covered up the contam, the contam is still there if you spawn i almost guarantee that it will contam i have had this happen a few times.

Actually, the first jar is already cased in CC and 7 days done--just looked at it: zero contams, just a ton of fluffy white mycelium.
I'll post results on everything, but its not at all unlikely that the contams we overtaken. Ref: myco-remediation.

yes but the thing is that when you work with a clone almost always there is an even pinset and and the shrooms all look the same!and that's not the case in here!
when i find a good comparison ill post it!

no man, a clone is a clone, and that can be anything. i could start cloning for genetic mutations, or even NON-mushroom producing strains. this clone could be of a shitty pinset clone, but one that eats contaminations nontheless.

A clone looks just like every other mushroom that looks like itself. By the way what contaminates did it eat? cobweb?trich?penicillin?

I would start a second generation clone with the nicest fruit of this batch. If indeed it does eat contamination and is able to somewhat fruit, I would be pulling out the petri dishes and start getting to work!

Very often, the damaged, blue-gray mycelium that results from shaking is mistaken for contaminant molds. RR

How is this possible I know that you could do an isolate of a non-mushroom producing substrain but how to do a shitty pinset isolate,,, either it pins or it don't and it will grow at the same rate if provided the same conditions.
but how will you isolate a substrain that sometimes it grows, some times it don't grow and at different rates?
I really would love to learn more about how is this possible.

I'm no expert but it seems to me that when you clone mushroom tissue you're in fact cloning mycelium. And it's quite possible that one myc has a genetic trait which produces its fruit evenly all at the same time while another has a trait which produces its fruit unevenly.

Cube mycelium will not join with trich or cobweb. Anastomosis is the pairing of dikaryotic mycelium with other dikaryotic mycelium. In other words, combining strains, but not species. For example, Penis Envy could combine with cambodian cubensis via anastomosis, but neither could combine with oyster, shiitake, or mold. RR
