Short on space. Suggestions?
    #729758 - 07/07/02 06:48 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

OK, to begin I'd like to state that I have successfully grown mushrooms on several occasions with several different methods. However, I no longer live alone and have only a very small area to work with in which to grow mushrooms. Does anyone have any suggestions on a terrarium that actually works well but takes up very little space and is easily concealed? I have a few different places that I could do this, under my bed (about 1 foot off the ground), a small storage cupboard (about 3ft x 3ft x 3ft), or hidden in the corner of a spare room hidden by a stack of boxes. If anyone could give me some ideas I would really appreciate it.

That sounds good, but what would be the best humidification technique for such a small container? I have had success with ultrasonic humidifiers, hand spraying, and perlite, but in each case I used a 10 gallon fish tank for my terrarium. A humidifier seems a little much for such a small space... Perhaps I will try both perlite and hand spraying and just experiment a little. Thanks for the suggestion.

since you are limited in space then obviously you can't grow in bulk so maybe try the 2 liter bottle terrarium idea (MMGG). You could stick like six of them in that cupboard of yours. Good luck.

i have not even grown my frist batch so your guess is a good as mine.....i would take advantage of my total grow area.....the rubber made contaners that are like 3 ftx2.5ftx1.5ft would be my choice. you could get 2 in there that should be more that sufficent. or get your self a hydra-pod.......

I can't believe I'm encouraging it, but hip's invitro method really is the easiest method to conceal. You've got enough room for about a thousand 1/2 pt jars under your bed....

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
