Why did my casing have to turn blue-greenish color
    #720618 - 07/03/02 02:41 PM (21 years, 9 months ago)

i traded some buds for a casing from one of my friends and i was all excited. I got it 8 days before the fourth of july hoping to have a harvest for the fourth of july. The first 2 days nothing happened. But the third day i woke up to see 2 lil mushrooms pooking out. But the next day my casing got a blueish slight tint of green spot on the top but i never touched it. I asked my friend to come over and he said it was fine but the next day it spreaded to the opposite side of the side that the mushrooms is growing on. I have been freaking about it sience then. I touched it to bruse it to see if it is the same type of coloring it is but the bruse dosn't have the tint of green to it. Its now the 7th day my 2 mushrooms are about 2 1/2 inches long and about a inch thick with a couple lil ones growing right next to them but the coloring has gotten pretty bad its not a dark color but its all over the casing. I water the sides of my terrium everytime i open it to give it fresh air and somtimes i sray the casing and the perlite around the casing. Is this some type of mold? I stop watering it so much and the tint of it is going away alittle bit but its starting to grow a white mold is my casing fine or should i do somthing? I'm going to eat any mushroom that grows on it wheiter or not it is contaminated should worry about the casing turning a blueish greenish color? And if so what can i do to save it? If anyone can help i will be more then gratefull.

but the mushrooms that r growing on it are turning out hudge. So far the bigger one is 3 1/2 in and 1 1/2 in thick and the smaller one is 2 1/2 in and 1 in thick. But there are 3 or 4 tiny itsy bitsy thats been there for about 4 days but havn't grown much at al. What should i do? i want to trip for 4th of july but i'm not sure i'm going to have enough. but i need to try to grow a successfull mushroom so i can make a spore print. And the blue stop spreading.

i have 10 jars waiting to get started but i made them like 2 weeks ago nothing is growing in them so i know its contaminate free but it smells really bad by the lids. I used perlitee and bird seed. Can i still use these.???????

And that cake has about 10 mushrooms growing on it should i just dispose of these or should i wait for these to grow then crumble up the cake and put them in the jars.

Thank you so much for you help that was exactly what i wanted to find out. Thanxs have a good day

curtis
