A.) Cakes suck. If you've taken the time to colonize this much substrate, take the minute amount of time it will consume to case this. Check out some of the really SIMPLE casing teks posted.

B.) I'd suggest a cold shock with TC's. They fruit every time for me, but I cold shock every casing. The Spore Chicks recommend this for them. Cold shocking generally increases the amount of pins, also.

I can't tell you how long it will take(or if it event will fruit). I tryed growing TC's before and they never did fruit. I got impatient and just made some tea out of my cakes.
