The politics of statistics

Too many people on this board throw out random facts and statistics that they do not source to support their arguments.
People then rebut these arguments with more useless statistics and facts, which in turn fails to produce an intelligent conversation that ususally ends in left vs right name calling... so,
SOURCE YOUR GOD DAMN INFORMATION or dont its up to you

it is a good idea...you should practice it.
To Foghorn:
With that said i'm not sure that would work in this type of setting, however at least give a brief description of where you got your information. If you got the info from the internet give a site address. I'm going to start doing more of this since the topics are getting a little more interesting as of late...a little more. Unfortunatly many topics don't lend themselves to referencing info, for example the isreal vs. palestinian debate on who is wrong to kill innocent children. This kind of debate will always be the right vs the left sort.
What format of referencing do you want? APA or MLA?

If you've mastered APA than I'll lick your boot. That is the absolutely most fucked up way to list sources known to man. In my effective oral communications class at Akron U this witch professor took off points for not using it correctly when I did it the way it said to in the book. Everyone in the class had that problem. I hate the APA format and I'de blow it up if I could. ARRRRGGH. Makes my blood boil just thinking back on it.

I used it in my MBA course and that was the only way acceptable. My thesis was done in APA as well. Make sure you're not using the APA format 4th edition, they've changed to the fifth and now this fucking book i paid $60 for is useless!!!
I don't find APA that hard but it can be a royal pain in the ass if the teacher is a prick about it. I'm taking some continuing ed classes and we're using it right now.

I, too, fucking HATE APA.
What the Hell happened anyway?
My whole academic career it was always MLA MLA MLA and then when I could finally write a Works Cited page without the book, all my classes start shoving this APA shit on me.
