I found these babies in the mountains of Washington State. These pics were taken 24 hours after cultivation so the color has darkened a bit. I found several other species on my hike, but these were the only ones that looked edible...
ps. if anyone wants to know exactly what trail I found these on, there are many, many more ready for picking

pics are a little dark, what color was the sporeprint? what were they growing on? They almost look like they could be subbs...also did the base of the stem bruise blue at all? Need more info.
Cheers

I doubt subbs, that stem is way to thick, and there looks to be remnants of a veil, something subbs don't have.
The first pic made me think Clitocybe nuda, but thats probaly wrong because fo the second pic... the gills arent dark on C. nuda.
Whatever it is, I don't think it's active.

That was just a wild stab in the dark based on color and what not...don't look like the subbs I get round my here parts neither...hehe. But there are different strains, and washington is far away from here...nudas are way more purple and smurf looking usually. Dunno, need more info and a better picture...hehe I think you may be right about that quarter though..lol.
Cheers
