fast colonizer?
    #726669 - 07/06/02 02:32 PM (21 years, 9 months ago)

Hey all I was just wondering what is a very fast colonizing strain? Like a month and a half ago i had some gulf coast spores and i made the mistake of making one 1 pint jar and five 1/2 pint jars without an incubator and lets just say that the 1/2 jars met a bad end (horrible contamination) because of a contaminated syringe. And I used one whole syringe in the 1 pint jar but the jar grew so slow. After like five weeks it was halfway finished but then contamination attacked it because it took so long to colonize so im looking for a faster strain anyway just kinda rambling now so piece...

Tazmanians(IMO fast as hell..almost too fast), Creepers, Mazatapec are pretty fast. Cambodians are pretty quick.

Puerto Ricans are the fastest colonizers I've seen, thats only out of growing EQ's,TreasureCoast's,Amazonians,B+'s so I'm limited in my knowlege. I do know that PR's rock though.

Either Messie or PR are my fastest, doesnt mean it wont take a few weeks. On Wheat Grain, I give em about 2 weeks. Maybe more, I wont know untill I check again tomarrow.

Tasmanian--10 days to chomp pint jars of millet. Blazes through coir casing (don't incubate it, just put it straight to the fruiting chamber).....

I Agree 100%

Cambos are my first choice when it comes to fast colonizing strains.

Does anyone know anything about Golden Teachers?? I'll just say they are slow, but I also put too much BRF in the jar (lack of airyness. How strong can these get if cased with jiffy mix?
