Florida mushroom species

I was just curious if there were other species of active hallucinogenic shrooms in florida besides cubensis and blue meanies.
a friend of mine said his friend told him he used to pick hallucinogenic mushrooms off of wet tree stumps and other various wood. does anyone know if a species like this exists in florida.
it would be nice to be able to get them on canoe trips and hikes, instead of messing around with pissed off bulls, farmers with shotguns and cops all the time...

There certainly are a few others, can't remember off the top of my head if they have wood-lovers down there or not. I reccomend sticking to the cows though. The farmers usually don't shoot at you and the bulls are easy enough to avoid....eating a mis-identified mushroom could be a lot more dangerous. And the cops can't do much, a tresspassing charge isn't too bad, just never admit you know what you're picking. If you really want to though, this would be a good place to start reading. you might be able to find Gyms there, but those are some you definitely want to get a positive ID on, as there are deadly look alikes.

If you have to ask those kinds of questions you should stick to the cow fields.

Gymnopilus junonius, "Big Laughing Gym".

If I never ask any questions how am i supposed to know what im doing? its not like plan to just go out there tomorrow or something based on what a few people tell me in one post. i planned to do research first.
its just nice to know maybe a common name, the name of the look alike and whether its potent enough to even mess around with. before i waste a bunch of time sifting through old posts, its nice to just get some basic info so i know what to search for...especially since someone who seemed to know about them was already online and could have answered the question with about as much effort as it took to flame me...
those of you flaming me for trying to expand my knowledge can kiss my ass. +shrooms for those of you who contributed something other than garbage to this thread.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, cowfields are just easy to find and good ones produce so much it seems crazy to think you are looking for another habitat to search. I used to take cyans (meanies) for granted when I lived down south. Good luck in the woods, I would certainly love to hear how it goes.

It was directed at ME. Haha, but seriously i was just trying to inform that all of your questions are already documented here on the site, and your post was actually in direct violation of the rules and this thread should have been locked imeadiatly. There are tons of posts like yours and it clutters things up and is kind of a waste of bandwidth.
Secondly, maybe i was just trying to invoke a little humor at the same time.
Sorry if you seemed a little on the dim side and left the goal wide open. I just couldnt resist the easy shot i guess.
Anyway gl with your gyms.

I considered locking this, however, because he was asking about a specific mushroom which he was not sure the identity of, I let it stay.
It is pretty hard to search for info on a specific species if you do not know the name of it.
