Powdered MHRB

It looks like powdered root bark is the best form to use for extractions but I'm just wondering how you grind it down to powder/type of grinder/blender that works best.
I've just got a manual coffee grinder at the moment and its no use at all.
Thanks

I don't know if a coffee grinder is going to cut it for grinding down root bark. Perhaps for powdering cactus skin, mushrooms, etc., but a coffee grinder might not be strong enough.
They sell them for 12 bucks now at wal-mart? That's a good price. I'm gonna have to go get one, I broke mine. I thought they were at least 20-25 dollars.

You can get prepowdered bark on ebay, it costs like 5 bucks extra.

Yeah its a cheapo, but it gets the job done most of the time. Haven't tried with with the bark.

I peel layers away till the bark is thin and then cut it with scissors. little chunks instead of powder works well.

this is true, it never hurts to just get MHRB already powdered to save time.

I'd thought greater surface area = greater extraction of alkaloids but I suppose it may not be. In any event I've got bark pieces now instead of powder so starting with powder isn't an option.
I'll check out coffee grinders - what kind of wattage is the walmart one? I won't be able to get it but I'll look for ones with similar or greater power.

I dont know the kind but the one I use for all kinds of herbs I have had for 5 years. As long as you dont overheat them they should last. If doing something like Mimosa I would peel it thin and cut it up and then use the grinder.
