I think you'd be foolish to buy shit. Have you ever driven by a farm?

yeah, but you see newyork is a small state thats mostly farm land, that isn't a fair comparison to where many people live.

For the sake of conversation, please give me a city name, and zip code. I bet you I find something within 50 miles. Probably closer. Frankly, if it's in a big city there are probably more opportunities for the goods as the number of horse stables increase.
I don't really want to argue, but I have this discussion before, and find that SHIT is everywhere. Careful not to step in it.
Even if he had to drive 1.5 hours to a farm, or horse stable that he had prearranged with, he could fill up several drums of shit, and be set for the next century. It would be cheaper in the long run to search out a source, but, you know me, Thrifty McNickel.

Isn't that the truth,I have in the past ordered it ready to use but I bet I could have horses shit on my front lawn and I would still use coir,It may not flush as good but it certainly does the trick, toss it after its 2nd flush and make room for a new project to take up that prime greenhouse real estate

If you aren't competent to find horse or cow shit, you really shouldn't be trying to use it anyway. Use an easier substrate like rye.

fast fred, look at my fucking gallery... I know how to select my own poo, but where i live, composting/pasteurizing my own isn't feasible, when i buy property, it is exactly what i will do, until then, and as long as cry0 is in business, I go with www.mycopath.com
i know what im doing, i can select my own poo, but since i live in a place like i said, where doing that isn't going to happen, doesn't mean i should be using bulk subs, furthermore, i direct noobs to this site so they can experience a bulk sub without picking up shit that isn't good and using it and failing from the start. Dont hate on vendor ready subs.
i have results to prove it.
man up.
today i just spawned another 30lbs of vendor purchased poop... next week another 50lbs.. then another 30 the following week.
so dont hate coz u can't afford it. The ease of use, is great for lazy people like me, that have the knowledge, but no desire to shit search.
I invite you to veiw my entire gallery.

i was driving along the road today and picked up two big bags of horse poo for 50 cents each. the p[lace i drove through was farming land, so pretty much every house had cows, horses goats and some sort of animal like that. a couple of people just put their horse poo out the front of their house instead of throwing it in the trash. when i got home and checked it, it was already dry, and had bits of straw all through it. stoked!
i could easily raid someones farm and gather the horse poop. but id rather do it this way because 1) im not trespassing and stealing and 2) im giving somone money

I wouldn't buy horse manure since that is pretty easy to find on your own but i would buy compost and that is definitely better than hpoo.

Suppose someone did live near farms would they be likely to find hpoo outside of the farm fences? I don't really want to trespass onto someone's farm, so just wondering what the rest of you do?

hey if you love near farms just drive pas all the houses and i gaurantee there will be one with bags of horse poo out the front for real cheap. i drove past like 10 selling big bags full of it.
alternatively you could knowck on their door and ask if you could collect some. im sure they wouldnt mind, their paddock gets a free cleaning!

im searchin around for some myself, but if compost is really better than poo, i might get some of that. probly just at a garden store around here. but when you say its ready to use, you still have to pasteurize it right? that just means you dont have to break it up or possibly leach it or dry it for a while right? sorry for the dumb question.

Why buy online when you can get 10 lbs. of dehydrated horse manure at Wal-Mart for $4. All you have to do is properly wet it and there you have it.
