Founding a religion.

Alright, I had this idea last night.
Ive always thought it would be interesting to write my own religion/ politics book (the two tie closely these days) and in my religion express the use of mushrooms as a catalyst for spiritual experiences.
I figured if I ever did get caught with mushrooms I could just pull out a huge book written by myself which clearly would explain my reasoning for mushroom use. Would that hold up in court? like they cant stop you from using shit for religious beliefs. fuck that. or is there a process of becoming a recognized religion?
I mean the book wouldnt be like a bible, itd basically be a book of morals, and stories, and experiences, ect...

No...there is no religious protection for the use of psychedelics or drugs in general in the United States of America except for the Native American Church and their use of Peyote. For a riveting and in-depth look at the pros and cons of religious defense in drug use cases, I refer you to the following article:

I was thinking about starting a political party. It would be called the "Teddy Bear Party". The government would buy everyone a cute Teddy Bear. It would be nice and a lot of our problems would be solved and stuff.

damn. im a slow reader
yeah it was a good piece and addressed almost exactly the questions I had.
looks like my biggest problem would be convincing judges that what i believe is sacred and not just forming a religion to my way of life. (which is how they ruled with the marijuana case)
Ima do some more research and then get to work.

I would like to write my own political ideology, focusing on ridding the modern world of the corruption and social ills.
But alas, Procrastination will ultimately destroy my chances of writing this piece
Goddamn marijuana/lack of motivation

Pursuade your ideology while smoking with others. Seems smoking everyone out and preaching would be more effective than writting a book...in this case at least.

The only modern religion is Mormonism and look at them. No one cares, so if you want to be taken seriously don't make a drug religion. The political rout is probably the best rout, although no one trusts politicians/politics anyways. So I guess what I'm saying is that rather than organizing a druggie society, just do them. You're out of luck, drugs are bad and get used to it.

One of today's biggest issues is stuff, and what better way to make stuff better than other stuff.
