i usually make my own lamp with an upside down glass and some denatured alcohol but you must be extremely careful

If you have 70% IpOH, then you have 30% water +inert stuff. If you have 90% IpOH, then you have 10% h20. Less water = more fire.
You could also just get some cotton and swab the syringe w/ the IpOH instead of using a lamp.

Swabbing with alcohol in no way can replace flame sterilization.

Denatured alcohol works best and leaves no soot, but 91% iso alcohol can be used in a pinch.

Don't be using anything less that 100%. The rest is water, which obviously will not burn.

Use denatured alcohol which you can find in any hardware store. Isopropyl also works great. You can even use methanol in a pinch.

Isopropyl alcohol is red "heet". Found in any gas station or walmart and used to dry out gas. Yellow "heet" is methanol, which you could also use.

Don't use drug store 70% or 91% rubbing alcohol. It's both more expensive and doesn't work as well or burn as clean.

^^^^ 100% Alcohol is impossible to create. You can get damn close(99+%) but you can't get 100%.

@RR, how so? In every inoculation that I have done, an air shot and swabbing has been more than enough.
