HYDRATING AT BIRTH
    #726878 - 07/06/02 06:13 PM (15 years, 23 days ago)

This will be my first cultivation. im using the BRF TEK with a Pink Buffalo stain and im now in to my 15th day after inoculation and the cakes are about 70% covered. I will be placing the cakes into a 10gal. tank. I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to give additional water to the cake or a TEK before placing in dual chamber. ive read that hydrating cake before placing in tank maximizes growth. any suggestion or tips would be really appreciated.

I always stick a large straw in my cakes, and inject water occasionally. never dunked, however, people here say they get good results from it.

There are so many different ways and variations to grow shrooms its amazing. If this is your first time i would suggest just following the pf tec to the letter and not to deviate. All differnt variations can all have good effects but all increase your chance of contamination. If you prepared your substrate correct there is no need to add extra water for your first flush, as far as which methode to use to rehidrate your cake there are many options, when i grew cakes i just used my syringe
