After all my reading, I know ahborts stop growing and turn black. You pick em and new mycelin grows back. But most of my beging fruits (PR's w/ some overlay & Messie's) are about 1-2 inches, the cap seems to be developing color but is still kind of white. Like white dots all over the cap. Not mycelin growing ON the cap due to high humidity, I have seen that; this is something different.
They stoped growing for about 36 hrs (a coir caseing), or slowed so much I cant see a difference. Does anyone know what the deal is w/ the whitish caps & slow progress? Or am I just being impatient?

tray culture, can be a daunting challenge for some begginers. this is why you will see PF cake tek recommended on this board for those starting. assuming that you are not one of these, there are a number of environmental factors that cause abortion and halting, other than contamnation. as a rule, an increase in gas exchange is the first thing to try. open the terrarium two or three times a day and fan it out a little. in a severe case, you may choose to leave the lid off for a few hours, to simulate the normal flux of temp. CO2 and humidity that occurs in nature.
