Orissa India???
    #725824 - 07/06/02 02:30 AM (21 years, 8 months ago)

Okay, I am just wondering what people's experience with this strain is. I innoculated 12 jars last monday (5 days ago), and i am showing no sign of colonization. do i just need to be patient, or is it time to start worrying? from what i've read, colonization usually becomes noticable within 3-5 days. am i just trippin??

thanks.

if it take any where near 2 months toss them jars there is some thing wrong. Maybe 1 month maybe even 5 weeks if you have horrible conditions.
Once you start to see signs of growth they won't take to much longer

Another way to speed it up is to use filter lids.
You can make them if you don't have them.
Just take a philips screw driver and put a hole
in the center of your lids then take some
polyphilament (spelling) like cotton or something
and stick it in the hole. You can use the oven tek
while you do this to keep out contams. For
extra percaution you could dip the polly into alcohol
let it dry then stick it in the hole you made with
the screw driver. I have found this to be VERY
effective in speeding colonization up. I hope
that this helps.
