i have found these mushies-

im jusat curious as to what they are

they are about 2 inches tall,they start brown the mature to an off white color

the top of the cap has "ridges" on it from the gills underneath

these are found in alabama

the caps tend to crack and break as they mature-i have never seen a mushie that has ridges on the top of the cap-

i plan to take a print today-

The cracking you describe in the cap makes it sound like either some species Lepiota or Amanita.

i think so,the cap is very very thin with ridges on top
