i think nag champa is the best smelling incense out there

Agreed- but too much of a good thing isn't fun. If it's overwhelming, burn less than a full stick. Half or a third is good.

personally I particularly partial to a skunky cannabis smell and avoid incense at all cost. BUT if I must hide this heavenly aroma, I am partial to a nag champa, a sage stick, and various oils. :hehehe:

Vanilla's scent manages to come through really well when the source of the smell is burning. Vanilla pipe tobacco, for example, still smells great even though the smell is from burning tobacco... yet vanilla is a pretty mild odor and even if the smell is pretty concentrated it doesn't overpower your nostrils.

These incenses I bought are bloody pungent. Just opening the envelope they were mailed in was like a punch in the nose. I really don't like that. When you burn something like that in a relatively small room, the smell gets to be so strong that it's uncomfortable.

I'm very fond of vanilla myself. Patchouli is freaking disgusting, I detest the smell of it.

Now that I've smelled some other popular incenses, I'm almost afraid to smell patchouli.

haha...actually i do not like patchouli

when i smell it i think of these extremely dirty kids from back in high school that would dump it all over themselves after gym class...BLEHHHAH...

my mom just picked up some cheap stuff for me to burn in my new room called good luck, and i like it...just burned the first stick and it was nice

perhaps another reason i love inscence is because my parents never knew what weed smelled like, and back in high school when i burned it at their house they would think it was weed and i could piss them off with it haha..."no dad this is inscence...i do not smoke weed!!"

I'm on the same page with you regarding Nag Champa.  It can be too overpowering.  I like Japanese incense for that reason.  Shoyeido is my favorite brand.

I don't mind sandalwood, but I hate cedar incense.  I like the smell of cedar boxes, but putting that scent in an incense blend was a bad idea.  And I really dislike sage.  The smell gives me a headache.

i was just about to say he should try japanese incense...it's far more subtle and smells oooooooh so nice!

I'll order the japanese incense soon... but inside the box of regular Nag Champa incense I found a sample box of an incense I actually like.

It's Satya Sai Baba... smells pleasant. Not too strong, with a mellower impression on my nose.

but who knows how long that will take
