Laffey was a bit of a disappointment in his first MLB start the other night too.. I was excited for him, i know he was 3-0 at AA, then they brought him to AAA where he started 0-3 but after he won his next 7 decisions cleveland brought him up.
perhaps they will use him in a relief role, thats where we really need help anyways... i dont see too many problems with the starting rotation..
fucking love CC and Fausto.. Paul Bryd is somewhat consistant... then you have Lee and Westbrook who can get you a win.
Bullpen sucks ass though, basically consists of Betancourt and Borrowski.

Lee must be sooo pissed he got demoted to the minors. Deserved it, though.

he def deserved it, i think they probably had him penciled in at the #3 spot in the rotation and he ended up being complete shit.
i wonder if they will/ how soon they will call him back up.

Hahaha.
Welcome to the Chicago Cubs Bullpen, circa 2004.
If I have a heart attack in 20 years, its probably partially the fault of watching Farnsworth pitch at Wrigley for 3 years. Christ, everytime he throws a pitch you know its if he can manage to get it over the plate, its either going to be a 99 mph swinging strike or a crushed ball to the outfield.
I dont know how someone with that much god-given talent can suck so bad, but he is one of the worst pitchers I've personally seen.
I was thinking you guys would turn him around and get him to reach his potential, but I guess he's just bad bad bad.

It could have something to do with him playing in NY as well, he could relax a bit in chicago. although chicago is still a huge market.

Farnsworth did well for the short amount of time he was on the Braves.

The Yankees just beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4. A nice win in a one-run game. Pettitte with the win. Mariano Rivera nails down the save - striking out the side in progress. Alex Rios, Vernon Wells, and Frank Thomas, all K'ed.
Oh yeah, and most importantly...the Yankees are now tied with Detroit for the Wild Card.

Detroit looked awful the last week or so in Chicago.
I only caught one of the games in passing, but from what I hear on the radio it was a complete slaughter.

Jim Leyland told reporters that "this team is in chaos."

Jim Leyland is the man. If he can turn around the Tigers and Marlins you know that the man is a good manager.

Things are looking very well for us in regards to the wild card right now.
